About
Vendors in Partnership (VIP) Awards celebrates the relationships and collaborations that drive the retail industry forward. I led a comprehensive rebrand, developing a new visual identity and bringing it to life across event experiences, marketing materials, social media, photography, and video.
The Starting Point
VIP Awards' existing identity had become outdated and inconsistent, no longer reflecting the organization's evolving direction. The rebrand presented an opportunity to establish a more contemporary, recognizable presence that could capture the prestige of the awards while emphasizing the community and partnerships at the heart of the organization.
Developing the Identity
The new identity centered on a bold VIP wordmark, incorporating a distinctive sweeping graphic element and a black-and-gold palette that reflects the celebratory nature of the awards. A supporting visual system introduced contrasting typography, additional color treatments, and comprehensive brand guidelines to maintain consistency across digital, print, and event applications.
Designed with versatility in mind, the identity could adapt from prominent event branding to smaller digital applications while remaining recognizable and cohesive.
The Brand in Practice
The refreshed identity extended across social media campaigns, promotional materials, event collateral, and winner recognition assets. Custom winner badges carried the VIP mark into a distinct circular format, allowing award recipients to share their recognition while reinforcing the organization's visual identity.
Event photography and video recaps added another dimension to the work, capturing the people, atmosphere, and celebrations behind the awards. Paired with bold typography and branded messaging, this content helped connect VIP's digital communications to the experiences at the center of its mission.
Together, these applications established a more cohesive visual presence across the organization's communications and annual events.
